This Mathematics Guide is designed to assist teachers and parents to provide mathematics experiences which are meaningful, functional and challenging. This guide operates on the premise that every student can learn to use and appreciate mathematics.
Each Idea Statements contains two methods of writing IEP's. I have included lesson plans and suggestions to teach the IEP's. I like using different size seeds for different projects. For example: water melon seeds for math problems, or tomato seeds for a student who needs a fine motor challenge. Germinate the seeds in class and plant them in the garden, also has a math application. How much water, soil and how big does the whole need to be, etc. I get the parents involved and have the student remove the seeds from the dinner vegetables, clean and dry them as part of a cooking project at home. Over the years I have preached to my students,"As long as you have seeds, soil, water and time, you will never go hungry.
